In response to the COVID19 pandemic, we have introduced a course arrangement to protect both candidates and staff by reducing the amount of face to face interaction required. To achieve a limited amount of interaction, the theory is completed at home in your own time before you attend for the practical component. Also, on the day of the course we are staggering arrival times to limit how many people are present at any one time. Of course, these measures DO NOT negate or replace quarantine requirements; if you have returned from overseas, have had direct contact with someone with COVID19 or if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms – YOU MUST NOT ATTEND our training venue, please contact us to discuss when you will be able to attend.
Our Confined Space Entry refresher course is for those who have previously completed Confined Space Entry training and need to do it again. If you are a beginner click here.
Candidates are required to supply a Statement of Attainment, wallet card or USI record for RIIWHS202D – Enter and work in confined spaces or RIIOHS202A – Enter and work in confined spaces, issued within the last four (4) years. If you have lost your Statement of Attainment, or the training was completed more than 4 years ago please contact the office so that we can discuss your options.
If you have not previously completed training for Confined Space Entry we also offer a course where theory and practical training is conducted prior to the assessments, click here for more information.
This course requires you to complete the written assessment at home, before completing the practical assessment at our training venue in Rockingham over 2 hours.
Once a booking has been made you will receive a Booking Confirmation with a link to access the learner guide and a written assessment. Completing the assessment is mandatory; however, we do not require you to print the Learner Guide if it can be accessed on a device. If you are unable to print the 6 pages of questions, write the answers on note paper, starting each answer with the question number.
When you attend our training centre for the practical component, YOU MUST bring the Knowledge Assessment COMPLETED in YOUR own HANDWRITING.
NOTE: If you do not bring the completed written assessment, you will not commence the practical assessment, you will need to book and pay for another course date.
If you have language, literacy or numeracy difficulties please note that there is a level of reading, writing and numeracy required to complete the assessments, please see the LLN information below for what this means.
To satisfactorily complete this training with us, learners need to be able to understand, read and write basic English and have a basic understanding of numerical values.
For example, at the very least, the learner would need to be able to (without assistance) READ and WRITE by following simple instructions like;
Look at the Risk Assessment
Find ‘Confirm Task’
Write down what the ‘Potential Hazards’ are.
As an example of understanding numerical values a learner would need to have to satisfactorily complete this course with us, see the problem below;

If the LEL is greater than 5%, but less than 10%, the confined space may be entered, but no hot work can be done.
Question 1: If the LEL is 7.5%, can you enter the confined space?
Question 2: If you can enter, could you perform hot work?
Answer 1 = Yes, Answer 2 = No
